Faculty Advisor

Matt is in his seventh (!) go-round at WJMC, making him the oldest, in WJMC years, faculty member. He continues to return to WJMC because it continues to fan the flame of his love of journalism, through its speakers, events and, mainly, the amazing faculty who continue to be drawn to this conference. Plus, last year, he totally got to take photos of Carol Guzy and Grouchy Greg, which was freaking awesome.

He is the publications adviser at Francis Howell Central High School in St. Charles, Mo., where he advises the website, broadcast, newspaper and yearbook. This coming school year will be his 13th year advising at FHC. Matt’s students routinely perform well in both individual and publication national competitions, having earned numerous Pacemakers and Gold Crowns from NSPA and CSPA. In addition, he is a freelance photographer, specializing in sports and event photography, mostly for private clients. Matt is married (Angela) and has two kids (Noah and Sydney), two dogs (Addie and Canon) and one cat Reese). He is originally from the Chicago suburbs.
