Mingo Central Comprehensive High School
Eric Dillon is a sophomore at Mingo Central High School in Delbarton, West Virginia. He was a National Youth Correspondent during WJMC 2016 and is an active member in his school’s National Beta Club chapter. Eric has given a speech opposing teacher and staff cuts at his school, which was later published in his local newspaper. He plans on teaching at either the secondary or postsecondary levels. Eric’s favorite WJMC memory is the speech made by Susan Goldberg, Editor in Chief of National Geographic Magazine and News. Eric discovered he had Asperger’s Syndrome in the fifth grade, which he has worked to overcome through summer programs like WJMC. Eric hopes to encourage those with social anxiety and Asperger’s to not be afraid to attend WJMC and to take advantage of the opportunities they deserve.
