Ellee Guin

ELLEE GUIN

Ellee Guin is a junior in high school from Gainesville, Florida. As a self-growth podcaster and social media creator for her high school’s student government, she loves to learn how media affects the individual as well as the community. She has a part-time receptionist job at the local gym, Gainesville Health and Fitness, as she has a passion for health and well-being. In her day-to-day life, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, reading, and attending as many school events as possible.

David Caine

DAVID CAINE

David Caine is a rising senior at Cypress Creek High School in Wesley Chapel, Florida. David has always enjoyed writing, and when he tried his hand at journalism with his school newspaper, he found his love for journalism. This caused him to attend WJMC in 2022, and start an internship with the Best Version Media newspaper. He also enjoys volunteering at a local cat adoption center, tutoring kids in math, and working for a small toy store in his community. He is so excited to return to WJMC to be a part of the staff, and is thrilled to help the incoming correspondants have the same amazing experience he did.

Amber Brown

AMBER BROWN

Amber Brown is currently a high school junior at Manor High School in Portsmouth, Virginia. Her WJMC experience was eye-opening, perspective-broadening, and one of the best experiences of her life. She enjoys all things sports, including watching, reading, writing, and playing sports. She aspires to own or work for a large sports publication in the future.

Nithya Cheruvu

NITHYA CHERUVU

Nithya Cheruvu is a junior at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.  She is a varsity basketball player who enjoys traveling, cooking, gaining new experiences, and meeting new people. She volunteers through the Assistance League of Charlotte and is a member of her school’s DECA club. She aspires to be a sports reporter or a political journalist. Nithya attended WJMC in 2021 and is grateful to the program for helping her find her passion. She can’t wait to help others find what they love to do and is excited to be a part of the WJMC staff.

Elizabeth Stone

ELIZABETH STONE

Elizabeth Stone is a senior at Chantilly High School in Fairfax, Virginia.  She has been a part of many student publications and is currently an executive producer for her school’s broadcast journalism program. At WJMC, she loved connecting with other students over their shared interests. The program inspired her to pursue a career in media, and her next step will be studying journalism at James Madison University.

Cassie Dornan

CASSIE DORNAN

Cassie Dornan is a rising senior at Hampton Roads Academy.  She attended the Washington Journalism and Media Conference in 2021. She is editor of her yearbook and also an active member of Operation Smile and the Philanthropy Committee. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and volunteering with fellow students. Cassie is thrilled to see people have amazing journalistic opportunities as well as make many connections through this wonderful program.

Halli Harwood

HALLI HARWOOD

Halli Harwood is a graduating senior from Eastern Technical High School in Maryland.  Halli found her passion for journalism through a middle school communications magnet program and continued that journey in high school working on MavTV Morning Announcements and interning at her former middle school. Halli has also participated in drama club, various honor societies, and has enjoyed singing with the Peabody Children’s Chorus. This fall, Halli will be attending Elon University as a Communications Fellow studying journalism. She is very excited to be back as part of the 2022 WJMC Team!

Paloma Coelho

Paloma Coelho is a graduating senior at Coral Gables Senior High School in Miami, Florida. She was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and moved to Miami during the summer of 2016. At her current school, she is the historian and treasurer for the Academy of Finance. WJMC 2019 was one of the best experiences of her life, and she can’t wait to be a part of WJMC 2020!
