News Associate, CNN
Savannah Behrmann is recent graduate of George Mason University, where she studied Communication with an emphasis in Political Communication and Journalism. Hailing originally from Nephi, Utah, Savannah fell in love with the opportunities that the DC Metro area has to offer. During her time at George Mason, Savannah was honored to have interned with Northern Virginia Magazine, USA TODAY, C-SPAN, and CNN. Her internships gave her incredible opportunities, such as interviewing politicians on Capitol Hill, attending White House Press Briefings, covering President Trump’s Inauguration, and her op-ed, “Send ‘Fearless Girl’ on tour” made the front page of USA TODAY. Savannah was selected to represent George Mason University for the David Project, and was sent as an ambassador of the program to Israel and Palestine, and had the opportunity to interview Vietnam War Veterans in Vietnam this past winter. Most recently, she was just hired to work as a News Associate for CNN. Savannah was first introduced to Washington, DC when she attended the Washington Journalism and Media Conference in 2013 as a National Youth Correspondent. The following summer, Savannah was 1 of 4 students out of the 250 correspondents to return as an intern, and she served as a Junior Faculty Advisor in 2015, 2016 and 2017. She is so excited to return in 2018 to give back to the conference that has given so much to her.
