Anna Rose Layden is a freelance photojournalist based in Washington, D.C.  She primarily covers Capitol Hill and the White House, documenting daily congressional and presidential happenings.

Originally from Oahu, Hawaii, Anna is an alumna of Rochester Institute of Technology, where she studied Photojournalism. She planted her roots in Washington while interning for The Hill, covering a multitude of events from the confirmation process of Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson to the outrage surrounding the Supreme Court draft leak.

Her non-political work tends to center around children’s experiences and the meaning of the word ‘family’. She is a member of the National Press Photographers Association, Women Photojournalists of Washington and the Asian-American Journalists Association.

When not working, Anna can be found getting Korean BBQ, hiking or catching up on her favorite podcasts.
