SOPHIA CARDOSO
Sophia Cardoso is a senior at Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake, VA. She loves reading, creative writing, and is a member of her school’s theatre company. Sophia dreams of becoming an author after college.
SHANE RILEY
Shane Riley and is an aspiring sports journalist and senior in high school. For fun, he goes to the beach and plays school basketball. He runs a blog where he posts interviews and content related to the sports world. Shane loves to share his passion for writing and journalism with others as he feels it is a very important aspect of the world today.
SETH PITMAN
Seth Pitman is a current high school student at Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, TX. He attended the second session of WJMC ’22 where was a member of the Pink Group with Mrs. Melissa Larson. Seth is a member of his school’s yearbook, The Stampede, where he runs the instagram page and assists the editors with their duties, in attempts to keep the publication going smoothly. Upon graduation in May ’23, he intends on pursuing accounting with a minor in journalism or Dual Degree with accounting and journalism. He looks forward to attending this year’s Washington Journalism Conference so he can help this year’s scholars have an amazing summer and further help their desire for journalism or any field they desire.
SAUGAT SHRESTHA
Saugat Shrestha is a senior at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, FL. He’s currently a sports journalism intern with RangemanFilms, an independent media company based in South Florida, and a member of his school’s NHS, NEHS, MAO, & BSU as well. He is of Nepali descent and intends to pursue further education and a career in broadcast journalism with a focus on sports & media. He was a member of the Red Team during his time at WJMC and loved every second of it, as it solidified his love and passion for journalism going forward.
SARIYAH ROSADO
Sariyah Rosado is a rising senior at Jefferson Township High School in Northern New Jersey. She attended WJMC in 2022 and absolutely loved it. Her love for journalism was inspired during her time in the yearbook committee where she discovered a passion for sports photography. After graduating high school, she hopes to begin her journey studying animal behavior and health. She would also like to take her experience from WJMC and continue studying sports media. She looks forward to joining the youth advisory board so she can share her ideas for the program.
RHIANNON EVANS
Rhiannon Evans is a senior at Oakdale High School in Frederick, Maryland. She is the Editor-In-Cheif for her school’s newspaper and a member of her schools volleyball team. Rhiannon attended the 2022 Washington Journalism and Media Conference and is grateful for the experiences this conference gave her. She is excited to be a part of this conference again as a WJMC Staff member. She can’t wait to help new National Youth Coresepondants find their passion for Journalism and Media this year.
REAGAN FELDMAN
Raegan Feldman is a WJMC 2022 alumna from DeForest Area High School in DeForest, Wisconsin. She plays varsity lacrosse, cheers competitively, and is president of her high school’s student council chapter. When she graduates, she hopes to attend the University of South Carolina and major in either Mass Communications or Broadcast Journalism. Raegan is looking forward to assisting in the planning of another successful WJMC!
PAULINA LEVI
Paulina Levi is a senior at the Community School of Davidson High school in Huntersville, North Carolina who attended the Washington Journalism and Media Conference in 2022. She is the photographer and editor of her school’s newspaper and also an active member of key club and diversity club. She aspires to be a traveling photojournalist and lawmaker. In her free time, she plays lacrosse, travels, rock climbs, listens to music, spends time in nature, and creates ceramic pieces. Paulina is thrilled to be a part of the next chapter of WJMC so she can help guide and connect with the future journalists of the world.
NATHAN FERRARO
Nathan Ferraro is a junior at Armstrong Junior-Senior High School in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the co-editor of his school’s newspaper, The Hawks’ View, and president of the book club. He loves all aspects of English, from writing to reading, and his dream job is to become a political journalist. Through his high school, he partakes in band, taiko (Japanese drumming), LEO club, SADD club (Students Against Destructive Decisions), Key club, junior class cabinet, and SAGE club (Sexuality and Gender Education). He also plans to participate in Youngstown State University’s annual English Festival for his fifth year in a row in 2023. He is excited to be a part of the WJMC Youth Advisory Board so he can contribute to the program in order to help future attendees.
