Abigail Forbes

Abigail (Abby) Forbes is a high school senior from Morrisville, Pennsylvania. She has spent the majority of her life dancing, acting, taking pictures, and writing. Recently, she joined her school’s newspaper due to inspiration from this past year’s conference. Attending the Washington Journalism and Media Conference this past summer, was one of the best times she has ever had, and she cannot wait to help as a part of this year’s Youth Advisory Board.

Ainsley Martinez

Ainsley attended the Washington Journalism and Media Conference in 2018 as an upcoming high school junior. She believes the conference made a lasting impression, and the experiences in Washington DC were unparalleled to her previous exposures to journalism. Ainsley now writes for her school newspaper in Edmond, Oklahoma and is a staff writer at Poptized Magazine, a pop culture publication based in DC. Reporting without fear fascinates Ainsley, and she one day hopes to be war correspondent.

Adiziemma Anyichie

Adiziemma Anyichie (Addy) attends Carl Wunsche Sr High school in Spring,Tx. She was a Washington Journalism Media Conference National Youth Correspondent in 2018. WJMC was such an unforgettable, amazing, and eventful experience for her that she wants to be on the Youth Advisory Board to give back and help make the WJMC journey for future students fun and unforgettable. Addy enjoys writing essays about societal issues that matter.

Andrew Onodera

Andrew Onodera is a senior at Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colorado. He currently is the Executive Producer for the Cherry Creek Sports Network, his high school’s live broadcasting program. Outside of school, he works as a sideline reporter for Lacrosse Talk Radio covering the Colorado Mammoth, Denver Pioneers, and Colorado State Rams. In his spare time, Andrew likes to spend time with friends and enjoy the 300 days of Colorado’s sunshine!

Skyler Tolzien

SKYLER TOLZIEN

Skyler Tolzien is a WJMC Youth Advisory Board member from Warrenton, Virginia. In her free time, she loves to do anything onstage, and offstage, you can typically find her writing poetry or conversing with her French and Spanish teachers. In the future, Skyler would like to double major in international relations and communications, with a focus on European language and culture. Skyler attended WJMC 2018, and it was an incredible experience she will never forget. She is looking forward to being a member on the Youth Advisory Board this year!

Brooklynn Arment

BROOKLYNN ARMENT

Brooklynn Arment is apart of the graduating class of 2019 at The Barstow School in Kansas City, MO. She is the Executive Producer for her school’s television network, BTVN for two years now, and the head social media coordinator. She plays basketball competitively and would take you for a 1v1 any day. She plans on studying strategic communications in college and hopes the class of 2020 and 2021 love WJMC as much as she did!

Isabella Foy

ISABELLA FOY

Isabella Foy is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She swims competitively on her high school’s swim team, the Aqua Pats, and is a founding member of her high school’s newspaper. She recently received her open water certification. At WJMC 2018, she was a part of the Green Group where she made many friends. She is very excited to be a part of this year’s advisory board.

Hanna Lemos

HANNA LEMOS

Hanna Lemos is a senior at Merrimack High School in Merrimack, NH. In 2018, she attended WJMC as a national youth correspondent representing NH. Lemos has been the senior editor for her school’s magazine since her freshman year, and plans to continue her passion of journalism in college next fall. As well as journalism, Lemos is the president of the Random Acts of Kindness Club and takes part in many school events and volunteering. For her, journalism is something she is so passionate about since she loves the idea of reporting history as it happens. She looks forward to being apart of the Youth Advisory Board in order to make the conference better for future journalists, and is so thankful for her experience at WJMC last summer.

Shjan Carter

SHJAN CARTER

Shjan Carter attends Harry S. Truman High School in the Bronx, New York. She is a member of her school’s media and communications program, and after graduation, she plans to go to college and major in business while minoring in journalism. Shjan attended session 1 of WJMC 2018, and it was one of her favorite journalism experiences so far. She wants to be apart of the Youth Advisory Board to make sure that the future attendees of WJMC have an even better experience.

Kylie Bergenske

KYLIE BERGENSKE

Kylie Bergenske is from the land of the corn: Sioux City, Iowa. She loves photography, and in her free time she’s editing and uploading to her website (kyliebergenskephotography.com). Kylie had the opportunity to attend the Washington Media and Journalism Conference in 2018 and it changed her life. WJMC inspired her to pursue journalism in college, and she’ll be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall of 2019.
