Leila Campell
Junior Faculty Advisor
Leila is a rising Senior at George Mason University and a student of the GMU Honors College, pursuing a Bachelor of the Fine Arts in Creative Writing and a Minor in Journalism. She is a member of GMU’s Crotchet For a Cause, and GMU’s Pep Band, The Green Machine, as a cellist. Leila volunteers at the Food For Others Foodbank once a week and she also plays Dungeon and Dragons on the weekends! She was a WJMC Correspondent in 2022 and a Junior Faculty Member in 2025. During her time as a WJMC Correspondent, Leila discovered her passion for journalism as another avenue for her writing. Attending WJMC confirmed her decision to study at GMU, where she continues her passion for journalism and has written multiple articles for the university’s student run newspaper, The Fourth Estate. She has no regrets. Leila enjoys reading, writing, drawing, video games, and spending time with her friends and family. She is so excited to once again return to WJMC as a Junior Faculty Member, and looks forward to helping WJMC Correspondents have a good experience at the Washington Journalism and Media Conference.
