MATTHEW CHUTER
Matthew Chuter is currently a senior at Bayview Glen Independent School. He is from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and attended WJMC in 2022. he is excited to be a part of the Youth Advisory Board. He is interested in Film, Journalism and Canada-US Relations. At school, he is the head of film for the media club. He is also a writer for his school’s student newspaper.
MAEVE BAUER
Maeve Bauer is a Senior at Woodgrove High School. She attended session one of WJMC this past summer and was in the Pink Group. She is the arts and fashion editor for her school’s newspaper, an active member of SCA, and on the executive board for Woodgrove For Women, a club made to help women in the community. Maeve’s time at WJMC was nothing short of extraordinary; it made her more confident in her journalistic skills and created life long bonds. She’s honored to be a part of the youth advisory board and can only hope to create an experience for the next group of correspondents as amazing as hers.
MADYSON ISENBERG
Madyson Isenberg is 16, and she lives in Schertz, Texas. She has a passion for writing and photography and is really looking forward to working with WJMC this summer. She hopes that this conference will help her make new connections and gain resources to help her succeed in her future career of becoming an author and owning her own publishing company. She really likes music, skateboarding, writing, playing her guitar, and getting to be outdoors. She thanks WJMC again for this amazing opportunity.
MACKENZIE MERCER
Mackenzie attended WJMC on the second week of last year’s conference and had an incredible time. She attended WJMC to strengthen her journalistic writing skills and to learn more about broadcast journalism as a possible career. She is a member of both National Honors society, and Thespian Honors society and also runs her schools speech and debate club. Mackenzie is very excited to be accepted on to the the Youth Advisory Board for next year’s conference and hopes to give others the same great experience she had.
LITA SONE
Lita Sone is a senior at Gunn High School in Palo Alto, California. She has experience in broadcast journalism, competing in the national Student Television Network (STN) broadcast competition, but recently she has branched out to other fields in journalism, joining her school newspaper as a reporter. In her free time, Lita enjoys volunteering and playing games during late night calls with friends. As a WJMC 2022 national youth correspondent, Lita hopes to use her experience to help future national youth correspondents have a great time at WJMC 2023.
LILY SAUNDERS
Lily Saunders is a junior at Broadneck High School, in Annapolis, MD. She is the editor of her school’s newspaper, TriBruin News. She loves to travel, spend time with friends, and watch movies. Attending WJMC was an amazing experience and she is so excited to help to ensure future correspondents will get the same experiences and more!
LAURYN SIMMONS
Lauryn Simmons is a high school senior majoring in dance at Detroit School of Arts. She have 11 years of classical training and experience as a pre-professional dancer. Outside of dance, she enjoys reading, writing articles and poetry, and watching logical YouTube videos. She is thrilled to return and assist as a youth adviser after attending WJMC in the summer of 2022!
LAUREN SOUSA
Lauren Sousa is a junior at Chantilly High School in Fairfax, Virginia. She attended WJMC 2022 and loved connecting with other passionate students as well as learning new journalistic skills. She is currently a producer of her school’s morning news show. She had a fantastic experience at the conference and hopes to make this year’s WJMC as memorable for others as it was for her.
LAUREN LEE
Lauren Lee is a graduating senior at Pennridge High School in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. She is an alum of the 2022 Washing Journalism and Media Conference. Lauren participates in her school’s morning announcement news program and writes for the school newspaper. Outside of journalism, she takes part in a multitude of clubs and activities such as marching band, indoor drumline, Key Club, and International Cultures Club. After high school, Lauren hopes to further her education and study Broadcast Journalism and Communications in college.
