Jocelyn Barr

JOCELYN BARR

Jocelyn Barr is a Junior at PODER Academy Secondary School in Cheyenne Wyoming. Jocelyn is in a concurrent enrollment program through her local community college and is taking 14 college credit hours. She is Student Council President and Chief Editor of her school’s Newspaper, which she founded. She loves to bake, sew, and write in her spare time. Jocelyn loves all things history, which is her niche for her school’s Wyoming Academic Challenge team, that she is the captain of. Jocelyn’s life changed after WJMC and is honored to be participating in the conference further.

Jessica McClure

JESSICA MCCLURE

Jess McClure is a hard-working girl through and through. She loves photographic journalism, and discovered said passion at WJMC. Journalism has always been a big interest of hers, and she is seizing her moment. Jess is elated to still be helping the Washington Journalism and Media Conference, and honored to have been chosen for the Youth Advisory Board. 

Jeffrey Wasieleuski

JEFFREY WASIELEUSKI

Jeffrey Wasieleuski is a Senior at Plainville High School . Jeffrey was a national youth correspondent at WJMC in the year 2023. Jeffrey Wasieleuski Particpates as a Peer Helper in Unified Sports, the PHS A-Team , The 2024 Class officer team . Jeffrey is an excellent student who tries his hardest everyday in school and in his free time he bowls competitively. 

Jackson Crouse

JACKSON CROUSE

Jackson Crouse is an 11th grader from Charlevoix, Mi. He plays 3 varsity sports , Football, Basketball, and Golf. He is part of his school’s yearbook and broadcasting program. When he grows up he aspires to be a sports broadcaster.  

Isabella Trevino

Isabella is a curious and adventurous person that loves exploring new places. She’s passionate about art, music, writing, and photography. Not only is she interested in journalism, but in the science field as well. Isabella is excited to work with WJMC for another year as a member of the Youth Advisory Board! 

Inaaya Firoz

INAAYA FIROZ

Inaaya Firoz is a junior from Tampa, Florida. She enjoys creative writing and journalism, as well as economics and plans to go to law school when she’s older (hopefully at Georgetown). She enjoys mainly writing poetry and has participated in the Scholastic Writing Awards for a few years now. She attended WJMC in 2023 and looks forward to making WJMC a fun experience for future students. 

Dario Diaz

DARIO DIAZ

Dario Diaz is a diligent 11th-grade student enrolled at Colegio Marista Guaynabo. His leisure activities are dedicated to singing and quality family time. From a young age, Dario’s parents have instilled a strong work ethic in him and his sister. His extensive extracurricular engagement includes membership in the San Juan Children’s Choir, participation in Model UN at his school, and active involvement in multiple student councils. He eagerly looks forward to collaborating with fellow WJMC participants as they work towards an exciting and productive summer ahead. 

Daisha Pierre

Daisha Pierre  is a senior at Oak Ridge High School. She spends most of her time doing community service and helping people around her school. As a pass time she loves to meet new people and watch her favorite shows and movies. 

Chase Harmer

CHASE HARMER

Chase is a senior at Horseheads High School in New York. He has 4 brothers, Kevin, Preston, and Gavin. He enjoys playing basketball, reading and writing. Chase is very excited to see what’s coming in the future!  

Casey Perry

CASEY PERRY

Casey Perry is a current Youth Advisory Member alumna of the WMJC 2023 conference. Casey is from Houston Texas and is a former participant of WMJC previous conference. Casey just like you was curious about the world of journalism just like you might be, until a special envelope slipped into her mailbox. She hopes that your world will open up with ideas of working in journalism or find something new that you might find yourself passionate about.
