Arthur Kennington

ARTHUR KENNINGTON

Junior Faculty Advisor

Arthur Kennington is a rising Sophomore at George Mason University studying Business Management. He is an alumni of WJMC 2016 Conference back as a rising Junior in high school. He has lived in the Northern Virginia area all his life, attended Oakton High School, and hopes to settle there in the future with a job in Washington, DC. At George Mason University he is a soon to be member of the Delta Chi Fraternity in the Alpha Alpha Class. Arthur loves to play soccer, video games, and has a strong passion for music. He is a die hard fan of both Liverpool FC and the New York Yankees. Arthur can’t wait to return to WJMC again this summer! Maggie Attridge

MAGGIE ATTRIDGE

Junior Faculty Advisor

Maggie is a rising sophomore in the Media, Self and Society College Scholars program at the University of Maryland in College Park. She is double majoring in journalism and government/politics. At UMD, she is involved with the UMD Student Government Association and the Student Alumni Leadership Council. She is from Columbia, Maryland, and attended WJMC in 2017 as a correspondent. She can’t wait to return to share her experiences with the new correspondents!

Laura Scudder

LAURA SCUDDER

Laura Scudder is a senior at George Mason University majoring in communication with a concentration in journalism and minoring in sustainability studies. She works for Mason’s student newspaper, Fourth Estate, and was the Co-Editor-in-Chief for the 2020-2021 academic year. This spring, she also worked as a reporting intern with Voice of America’s Student Union. Laura attended WJMC in 2017 and worked as a Junior Faculty Advisor in 2019.

Gabriela Latimer

Gabriela is a rising junior at George Mason University. She is part of several organizations on campus such as Students Demand Action, Chi Omega sorority, Mason Ambassadors, and the Honors College Recruitment Team. She has a great passion for human rights, reflected in her major, global affairs, as well as seen in other service works she has taken part in. Gabriela is so excited to be returning to WJMC as a JFA and cannot wait to meet all the students who are passionate about journalism!

Jordan Coddington

JORDAN CODDINGTON

Junior Faculty Advisor

Jordan Coddington is a rising junior at West Virginia University. Jordan studies Communication and a double minor in Public Relations and Strategic Social Media with an emphasis is Social Media and Communication Technology. She is a member of the Undergraduate Communication Association and PRSSA at WVU. Jordan had the opportunity to become a social media contributor for the Stone House Restaurant and Inn during her freshman year and is currently doing freelance media work for companies that need to spruce up their media game in the Morgantown,WV area. She attended WJMC in 2015 and after attending knew she wanted to study media in college. In her free time, you can find her jamming to Taylor Swift and searching for the best mozzarella sticks.

Charles Hunter

CHARLIE HUNTER

Junior Faculty Advisor

Charlie Hunter is a rising senior at the University of Kentucky pursuing a B.A. in Integrated Strategic Communication with a minor in Theatre. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Charlie attended WJMC as a correspondent in 2018 and returned as an intern in 2019. Since then, he has specialized in digital marketing and content creation, working with Sony Music Entertainment, the Kentucky Kernel, and various organizations within the University of Kentucky. Charlie is also an actor, avid sports fan, and aspiring educator.

Kobe Mosley

KOBE MOSLEY

Junior Faculty Advisor

Kobe Mosley is a rising senior at Butler University, studying sports media, journalism, and strategic communications. Mosley was a national youth correspondent in 2018, an intern in 2019, and is so excited to return this summer as a JFA! Mosley is a huge fan of the NBA and WNBA and hopes to be a multimedia sports journalist after college.

Isabelle Robles

Junior Faculty Advisor

Isabelle Robles is a current freshman at the University of Missouri-Columbia studying Strategic Communication in Journalism and Anthropology, hoping to pursue a career in digital communications. At the University she stays busy as a tour guide, a member of the Mizzou Student Suicide Prevention Coalition and is involved in the philanthropy and scholarship aspects of her sorority. She attended the Washington Journalism and Media Conference as a National Youth Correspondent from Iowa City, Iowa and returned to intern for the conference the following year. She credits her decision to confidently enter journalism school to the knowledge and connections she gained at WJMC.

In high school, Isabelle got the opportunity to travel across the nation for journalistic purposes and was named Iowa’s High School Journalist of the Year and one of six national runners-up. She has experience in news and feature writing, broadcasting, multimedia storytelling, social media and website production and has received state, national and international awards for her work, including the 2017 National Multimedia Story of the Year. Isabelle can be found scoping out the best local ice cream places and talking way too much about her dog.

Taylor Clarke

Junior Faculty Advisor

A Long Island native, Taylor is a junior at Hofstra University, majoring in journalism with a minor in American studies. On campus, Taylor is an active member of the Peer Alliance Program, the Honors College and she serves as the Assistant News Editor for the school’s newspaper, The Hofstra Chronicle. Taylor is thrilled to be back in D.C. as part of the Washington Journalism and Media Conference. She attended the conference in 2013 and her experiences inspired her to pursue a degree in journalism.

Sami Gibbs

SAMI GIBBS

Junior Faculty Advisor

Sami is a sophomore at George Mason University where she is majoring in Communication with a concentration in Journalism and double minors in Political Communication and Global Affairs. This past summer, Sami served as a Speaker Intern for WJMC 2018. She enjoys staying involved on campus as a Mason Ambassador, a News writer for The Fourth Estate, a member of Mason Cable News, an intern for the Washington Scholars Program, and a Student Government Senator. Recently, Sami has covered the much-anticipated appearance of Rep. John Lewis, which was featured on the cover of The Fourth Estate and has also co-anchored Mason Cable News on several occasions. Back at her hometown, Brentwood, California, Sami was a 2-year Editor-in-Chief of her high school’s paper, The Lion’s Roar, which earned a nationally-ranked first place award. She also created and ran a “Humans of Liberty” social media page and served as the student representative to the school board. WJMC will always hold a special place in Sami’s heart and she is grateful for the program, and those who were a part of it, for motivating her to pursue a career in the field. She looks forward to all the success that WJMC 2019 will bring!
