Moss Smith
WJMC Alumn 2025, YAB 2026
Moss Smith is currently a high school senior at Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences and a Sophomore at Clackamas Community College. He is a proud WJMC 2025 alumni. Moss runs the Gender and Sexuality Alliance at both their high school and college, as well as being a part of the National Society of High School Scholars and Phi Theta Kappa. He is looking forward to helping with future conferences and fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Korina-Angeliki is a 2025 Yellow Group Alum and a student at Shepherd Hill Regional High School. Korina wishes to be a political or sports journalist in Washington D.C. in the future. In her free time, Korina enjoys writing her novel, acting, playing guitar, and watching the WNBA (Go PB5!). Korina is ecstatic to be on the Youth Advisory Board and contribute to the experience that solidified her dream to become a journalist.

Kailey is a senior at Boyertown Area Senior High School in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, and attended WJMC in 2025 as a part of the Session Two Purple group. Currently, she pursues broadcast journalism as a telecommunication intern at her school, and is Secretary of BASH TV News, a daily broadcast television news show, where she serves as an on-air anchor and news director. Additionally, she is the Chief of Staff for Pennsylvania Youth and Government, and a NextGen Program Ambassador for the Greater Philadelphia YMCA, encouraging youth civic engagement and positive development in her local communities. She is looking forward to studying strategic communications, journalism, and political science in college, and is excited to continue to contribute to WJMC!

Julia Westbrooks is a high school senior from Nashville, Tennessee, who is also earning her associate’s degree in English. She is a passionate storyteller who loves exploring creativity through film, performance, and writing. Julia is an active volunteer who finds meaning in connecting with others and giving back to her community. After an incredible experience at WJMC 2025, she is thrilled to join the Youth Advisory Board and help create the same inspiration for next summer’s youth correspondents.

Jordan Perry is a senior from the Adirondack region of New York. She participated in WJMC 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She has a passion for photography, media, and public relations. She hopes to enter the world as a Public Relations Specialist and use her photography expertise throughout her career.

Jon Fisher-Miller is a junior in a media and communications magnet program, where he explores journalism, storytelling, and leadership. He currently serves as his class Vice President and is active in both student government and the performing arts. Jon has a background in journalism and debate, experiences that have strengthened his passion for communication and advocacy. Through the Washington Journalism and Media Conference Youth Advisory Board, he hopes to help inspire future student leaders and storytellers.Â

Janeyliz Baez is from Pembroke Pines, Florida and attends Pembroke Pines Charter High School. She is the Editor-In-Chief of her school’s online publication: The CHAT and founder of her school’s Journalism Honor Society. Janeyliz is an alumni of the 2025 Washington Journalism and Media Conference (WJMC) where she was the social media manager for the blue group. She plans on pursing journalism as her future career and has skilled herself in writing, multimedia, and marketing. WJMC has shaped her journey as an aspiring journalist and has played a key role in networking and creating lifetime friendships. Her main goal is to help future national youth correspondents create their own story at WJMC. Â

Jamie is a Team Captain for Governor Mifflin with PA Youth Vote, a non partisan organization focused on youth political action. She works closely with staff to get all eligible seniors registered to vote and encourages them to follow through and make their voice heard! Third in her class, Jamie places a strong emphasis on academics and hopes to attend American University as a double major in political science and journalism. She aspires to become a political journalist and is grateful for the opportunity to help plan the Washington Journalism and Media Conference for 2026!Â

Lua is a honor roll student at Sallie B. Howard High School. She constantly posts essays and art on her blog, writes her own songs, and dances. Her favorite music genre is K-pop, and she enjoys doing vocal performances. She is always eager to learn about building vibrant communities and empowering young people.
