JASMINE BROCKINGTON
Jasmine Brockington is a senior in high school at Manchester High School in Midlothian, Virginia. She is 17 years old and loves to read books, dance, listen to music and spend time with her family. Jasmine participated in WJMC this previous summer before starting her senior year and enjoyed every second of it. She wants to pursue Mass Communications as a career in life. Her life values include positivity and spending as much time making the world a better place through uplifting others. Her leadership skills in being Cocaptain of her dance team and to being elected as Historian for her school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, Jasmine is excited to be a part of the next chapter of WJMC and teach the future journalists of the world how to make the most of this experience as she did.


SUMMER RIGHTER
Summer Righter is a current student at Washington County Technical High School, where she is studying cosmetology. A distinguished student, she holds leadership positions in the Spanish National Honor Society and the Washington County Student Advisory Board. She has also previously been a part of 4-H and the Boonsboro High School Drama department. Summer is a varsity cheerleader, with hopes of cheering in college, and an active member of the National English Honor Society. She hopes to graduate high school with her cosmetology license and attend a four-year college, to then go on and get a law degree. Summer attended WJMC in the summer of 2021 and loved every minute of it. Her favorite part was being able to make connections and start networking with many students and influential individuals from across the country.


HALLI HARWOOD
Junior Faculty Advisor
Halli Harwood is a rising junior at Elon University, studying strategic communications and business administration. After attending WJMC in the summer of 2021, and returning as an intern in the summer of 2022, Halli is excited to once again join the WJMC as a JFA. At Elon, Halli is an account executive at Live Oak Communications, a student-run marketing and advertising agency, is conducting undergraduate research on cruise lines and their communication methods regarding the environment, and is currently working as a freelancer for BOLD LA, where she interned last summer. By the time WJMC 2024 is in session, Halli will have just finished a semester abroad at USYD in Sydney, Australia, and would love nothing more than to talk about it!


CLAYTON DOTSON
Clayton Dotson is an upcoming senior from Jacksonville, North Carolina who uses photography as a way to express emotion and meaning in journalism. In 2021, he received First Place in the state for SkillsUSA- Photography, and went on to compete nationally online. His favorite styles of photography include street photography and wildlife photography. Outside of journalism and media, Clayton also plays the alto saxophone for both his school and a saxophone quartet known as Prometheus Saxophone Quartet. In the future, Clayton hopes to get into college for accounting and finance to become a CPA.


NOELLE MYRICK
Noelle Myrick is a junior in the International Baccalaureate program at Oscar Smith High School located in Chesapeake, Virginia. Noelle attended WJMC’s 2021 session 1 conference and was part of the Green group. She serves as reporter for her school’s Student Council Association and Secretary for her school’s National Honor Society. Her hobbies include traveling and journaling. Noelle looks forward to serving on the WJMC Youth Advisory Board!


GIOVANNA LONG
Giovanna Long attended the Washington Journalism and Media Conference the summer of 2021 while moving from Washington, D.C. to Columbia, SC. She is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of her school’s paper and a member of her school’s yearbook staff. She is a junior in high school and a varsity cheerleader and softball player. Her time at WJMC was fun, eye opening, and invaluable to her, and she hopes every future WJMC alumni enjoys it as much as she did.


JACE REESE
Jace Reese is a senior from Alton High School in Alton, MO. She is an avid member of the National FFA Organization and believes in advocating for agriculture wherever she can. Through her blog she started in 7th grade as well as her social media platforms, she has created an environment of kindness everywhere around her.


JAIDIN HULSEY
Jaidin Hulsey is a senior at Henley High School in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She is involved in her school’s chapter of National Honor Society and is a yearbook photographer. She is also highly involved in the Wind Ensemble, her school’s highest band. After high school, she plans on pursuing a career as a forensic scientist. Jaidin absolutely loves traveling and getting to explore new places, and plans on traveling the country in a hippie van with her sister. She has been to 48 states, three countries other than the U.S, and is going on a trip to Europe with her French 3 class in the summer of 2022. In her free time, you’ll find her listening to or playing music, painting, or ice/roller skating.


EMILY OLSON
Emily is a recent high school-college graduate with an associates degree in English. She enjoys writing creatively, and in her spare time she also does horseback archery. She attended WJMC 2021 and one day hopes to become an English professor. She had an amazing experience at WJMC and hopes to help other students feel the same way.
