Chayil Dozier is from Chicago, Illinois. She enjoys reading, writing, and having good conversations. Chayil plans to become either a Broadcast Journalist or a column writer. She attended WJMC 2022 as a rising-senior.

Caroline Becker is a junior at Eastern High School in Voorhees, New Jersey. After attending WJMC this past summer, she fell in love with journalism. She spends most of her time running track and cross country and swimming. She is beyond excited to have been selected for the Youth Advisory Board, as WJMC was a life changing experience for her and she would love to continue her journey with the program for as long as she can.

Callie Kozak is 17 years old and a senior at Clinton High School (CHS) in Clinton, New York. She is the president of Student Council, and a member of the National Honor Society, the Tri-M Honor Society, the Gender and Sexuality Alliance, and the Leaders of Environmental Awareness and Protection club at CHS. Callie is also the captain of the Varsity Cheerleading Team. During her senior year, Callie is completing two internships: WKTV, the local television news station, and The Waterville Times, the local newspaper. In her free time, she attends dance classes at Dance From The Heart in Sherrill, NY for the competition team, tutors, drinks coffee, reads, and spends time with her friends. After attending the Washington Journalism and Media Conference, Callie is set on pursuing a career in communications and journalism and looks forward to exploring new opportunities within the field.

Brooklyn Mangrum is a senior at Harmony High School. She is a WJMC 2022 Alum and looks forward to pursuing a career in journalism as well as television film and video in college. She participates in different activities including high school cheer and a blooming in June program. On top of that, she is a dual-enrollment student at her local community college. She is excited to be a part of the WJMC Youth Advisory Board and can’t wait to share her experience.

Maximo Legaspi is a senior at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He began his work as a journalist as a student writer for his school’s newspaper, the Stagline, and eventually worked his way up to becoming the editor-in-chief. Outside of his work as a journalist, he serves as the President and co-founder of his school’s Asian-American Club, the co-captain of the Cross Country team, and more. In his spare time, Maximo enjoys playing guitar, listening to music, writing, fashion, and talking to his friends. In the future, Maximo hopes to become a journalist covering hard-hitting news across the world, and hopes to one day run for office so he can work to make the world a better place.

Imani Nellie Anzaya is a junior at Lake Norman Charter High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. She participates in both her school’s Varsity and club soccer programs, which have both have won state championships—one for the club and two for the school. In addition to her love of soccer, she also likes to bake, take road trips, and just chill out with her friends and family. She adores mentoring youngsters in her community and seeing them develop while doing volunteer work that involves sports, most notably coaching soccer. When she goes to college, she wants to major in sports journalism and play soccer at the collegiate level. Attending WJMC not only gave her this opportunity but allowed her to narrow down her major. She is incredibly appreciative of this chance and can’t wait to make the new WJMC correspondent’s journey just as memorable as her’s was.

Trent Benton is a WJMC 2022 alumnus from Greensboro, NC. He is an International Baccalaureate student at Walter Hines Page High School, where he participates in marching band, student council and the cheerleading team. When he graduates high school, Trent hopes to study environmental science and go on to get his law degree so he can specialize as an environmental attorney.

Teanna Sorensen is a junior at Copper Hills High School in West Jordan, Utah. She attended WJMC in the summer of 2022. Teanna is the editor-in-chief of her schools newspaper and officer for the Women’s Inspiring Strength and Empowerment club. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in journalism and work for a fashion magazine. Teanna loved meeting those with similar interests at WJMC and hopes to keep those amazing connections.

Stephanie Schultz is a junior at Moorhead High School. She was a National Youth Correspondent at WJMC in 2022. In her Sophomore year of high school, she was a reporter for her school newspaper’s Arts and Entertainment section. Stephanie enjoys writing, photography, and reading in her free time.

Sophia Prichard is a WJMC ‘22 Alumna and current Senior at Bourbon County High School in Paris, Kentucky. She is the Editor for Le Petit Colonel, the student-run newspaper and hopes to major in Film Studies so she can pursue film & art criticism in the journalism field.
